MRR Legislative Audit Request & Evidence
Original Posting, February 2002

MRR believes the DNR Motorized Trail Assistance Program promotes motorized use of public and private land in violation of Minnesota statutes and rules, without oversight or accountability, and with a plethora of unwanted outcomes. As a result of MRR action during the 2002 legislative session the Office of the Legislative Auditor (OLA) has audited this DNR program and released its report and DNR response January 8, 2003: Program Evaluation Report: State-Funded Trails for Motorized Recreation.  In 2002 MRR has presented legislators and the OLA with the evidence of unwanted motorized trail assistance program outcomes.  Below please find that evidence including most recent fact sheet and action alert.
